I have no way to really explain my absence from this blog other than the fact that I’m incredibly lazy. SML and I bought an Apple TV on Valentine’s Day and I have since spent many hours ripping DVD’s to my computer. It’s always been a dream of mine to be able to browse through movies the way I do music; that and a multi-party political system that isn’t made up of only Republicans and Democrats. When I told SML of these ‘dreams’, he began listing all of the reasons he would not be voting for Ralph Nader. SML and I visit PetsMart every week to look at cats, something I don’t even suggest doing anymore since SML will spend close to twenty minutes playing with a kitten’s paws between the bars of the cage. Last Saturday after the kitty visit, we stopped at CompUSA to see what kinds of deals we could find with an emphasis on external hard drives to hold all of my digital movies. I came out of that store not with a new hard drive, but with a new MacBook. Yes, I know it is sick. In less than a year’s time I’ve managed to go through a MacBook, a new iMac, another new MacBook, a MacBook Pro, and now I’m back to a MacBook and is anyone else tired of hearing the word ‘Mac’? All of this when I’m supposed to be saving to move to Boston? To make things just a little worse, today I convinced SML to buy a MacBook Pro.

I have been a lurker for some time. Keeping track of your posts but never leaving any comments. One of the things I love about your blog is that I see so much of my boyfriend and I in what you write about yourself and SML - particularly your serious mac love! After reading this post, I realized that the days of silently lurking were over and that I had to say, "hi". So... "Hi", and enjoy the new macbook. I love mine! |
