My sister invited SML and I to Utah’s State Fair on Sunday afternoon. I associate corn dogs with the fair the same way I do caramel apples and Frightmares at Lagoon and can’t go without one at either place. I’ve been to the State Fair every year since I found out that you can go to the fair grounds looking like you’ve never seen the inside of a department store and munch on a turkey leg while you’re browsing for a new hot tub.

I joke, but shopping for a hot tub and munching on a turkey leg is something I’ve always wanted to do. I used to constantly watch a TV Recorded version of Disney’s Sword in the Stone that had scene where everyone was eating a turkey leg. As a child, cartoon, and sometimes plastic, food looked better than the real thing. I really wanted a turkey leg; but I figured my opportunity cost of eating that turkey leg in front of SML would include barf and an angry hot tub salesman.

Before we left the fair, SML and my sister wanted to go down the ‘Big Yellow Slide’. It was terrible. I was really hoping that my two-year old nephew would have hated it so I wouldn’t be the only one that was afraid of the Yellow Slide of Death. But he wasn’t; he just laughed. And laughed.
