It’s about time for an update and I can’t even begin to explain how embarrassed I feel by my lack of blogging. My New Year’s Resolution was to write three times a week and although I do sometimes send text messages, it’s not quite what I had in my mind. I’m thinking of re-writing my resolutions to include, “Getting fat” and “Read to SML out of Harry Potter every night.” Because then? Everything would be golden. Working out two times a week has gotten considerably easier because I got a VIP membership to 24 Hour Fitness so that SML can go with me. I decided last summer that working out had the same effect on my body as taking three antidepressants; that and it’s far cheaper than buying drugs and repairing punched holes in the wall. This year will be no different. Besides the cold weather, it’s been harder to go to the gym because my thought process goes something like, “I could go to the gym…or I could call SML!” I usually call SML and we go to Crown Burger so I can order a Junior Crown Burger with an order of fatty fries. I immediately pass out afterwards because I eat more at Crown Burger than I do on Thanksgiving. Since I’ve gotten my VIP pass, I no longer have to choose between the gym and SML because I can bring him with me. He’s been so good about going that I often forget how much I actually hate the gym. We went to Trolley Corner’s 24 Hour Fitness last night after Ugly Betty. We spend the first half hour or so switching off between weight machines. When it was my turn on the machine, I commented to SML, “Wow, you’re strong!” since the weights were set to what I usually lift. When I looked up at SML he said, “No, I switched it back to what you were lifting.” And then a thick load of drool fell from his lip and descended to the floor. I wasn’t going to complain, because I often leave restrooms with toilet paper sticking out of my shorts, but I couldn’t hold in my laughter when I told SML that he was drooling in public. SML wiped his face and said, “It’s a good thing you love me.”
